What Causes Chafing?

  1. Hi, I wondering what you can do for chafing that is red and raw down in the area where the leg creases and also where it meets the butt cheeks. I get this on both sides and it is painful. I have tried vaseline and A&D ointment without improvement. It results in me walking penguin style.

      Chafing can look like many things. Depending on the severity, chafing can look like:
      -Red skin – much like a sunburn
      -Skin irritation
      -Raised bumps in the area that was being rubbed
      -Rub marks – where the top layer(s) of skin were rubbed off
      -Cracked or broken skin
      -Bleeding skin
      -Blisters or sores
